    Car Heat Pad

Anyone know of a UK supplier of therapeutic heat pads that plug into 12V socket, e.g. in a car? everytime we've done a long journey in recent months I've wished that I had a heat pad that could be plugged into the 12V socket. Microwaveable heat pads just don't stay hot enough for long enough. I assumed someone would have made one already...and they have, but I can only find one on an American website.  I do not want an electric blanket or a heated car seat cover....I want something just like this one in fact.

    Transportation

My little old car is at the garage and it failed its MOT royally. It looks like it might be bye-bye car time  as it would cost so much money to get in back on the road even without the extortionate car tax on top!

So I was thinking of what to do to solve my need of transport dilemma. And after a few glasses of wine (they were small I promise! ) an idea came to me! A bicycle with an engine (something like this) and a dog trailer (something like this)!

I don't really want to get another car as they're soooo expensive and I rarely need to go long distances and when I do I could borrow the car off Si. I don't want to get a mobility scooter as we don't have a garage to keep it in (plus, where would Archie go?). Ditto on my motorbike/scooter and sidecar idea!

So this sounds good. I don't mind a bit of weather...that's what waterproofs are for after all. It'd get me where I need to go. And it might get me doing more exericse as I could cycle when I could.  Plus we had a quick look online and I could get a bike for £200-600 new and a dog trailer for around £150 on the regular market, cheaper on eBay.  Add my bike basket and my panniers and we'd be set!

Another plus Si pointed out would be that we could then more easily go cycling together at the w/e....knowing I had an engine to get me up hills or just plain home if I needed!

    Light bulb moment

You know when you suddenly get an idea that solves a problem you've been mulling over and you're like "why didn't I think of that before?". Well I've been having issues sitting in a chair (tho I only realised how much when Sam loosened my back today and then I sat down at home and went "this is not good") with all my joint and TrP problems. I had been wondering about getting a kneeling chair, but they're quite expensive. My light bulb moment was suddenly thinking "exercise ball!"

I have one already but it's a small one as I have short legs, plus it needs blowing up more...so sitting on it as I comfortably am now typing this means that I'm really too low for the desk...but why don't I just get a big one and sit on that!   It's so comfy! And it'll be a heck of a lot cheaper than some ergonomic chair or stool!

So that's something I'll buy tomorrow.
